What this repair actually is.
The pressure line carries fluid at over 1,000 psi from the pump to the rack, using crimped metal fittings that corrode and weep in salty Northeast conditions. We replace the complete line with new sealing washers or O-rings, refill the system, and verify full pressure with no leaks.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Leak that worsens when turning the wheel
- Fluid spray pattern under the engine bay
- Crusty, wet corrosion along a metal steering line
- Steering groans and fluid disappears quickly
- Hissing noise at full steering lock

Pressure lines fail suddenly under load — you lose assist instantly and hot fluid can spray over the engine.
