What this repair actually is.
The charcoal canister absorbs fuel vapor from the tank until the engine can burn it, and it fails when cracked, clogged, or saturated with liquid gasoline — often from years of topping off the tank past the click. We replace the canister assembly, which usually includes the integrated vent valve, and verify the system seals and purges correctly.
Symptoms

- Persistent EVAP codes after valves were replaced
- Strong fuel smell near the rear of the car
- Trouble filling the tank without the pump clicking off

A saturated canister can send liquid fuel into lines meant for vapor, damaging the purge valve and keeping codes active.
