What this repair actually is.
Steel brake lines run the length of the car carrying brake fluid under pressure, and road salt eventually rusts through them. We locate the failed section, fabricate and install new line with proper flares and fittings, then bleed the system and verify full pedal pressure. This is one of the most common sudden brake failures on older northeast cars.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Brake pedal suddenly went soft or to the floor
- Puddle of brake fluid under the car
- Red BRAKE light on with low fluid in the reservoir
- Visible rust flaking on the lines under the car
- Failed inspection for corroded brake lines
