What this repair actually is.
Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point and corrodes expensive ABS components from the inside. We flush the entire hydraulic system — master cylinder through all four corners — until clean fresh fluid runs through, then verify a firm pedal. Most manufacturers recommend this every 2–3 years.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Brake fluid looks dark or dirty in the reservoir
- Soft or spongy brake pedal
- Pedal fades on long downhill braking
- It's been 3+ years since the fluid was changed
- Fluid moisture test failed at an inspection
If you delay
Moisture-laden fluid corrodes ABS valves and calipers from the inside and can boil under hard braking, causing sudden pedal fade.
