What this repair actually is.
When the flex pipe and its surrounding section are too far gone to weld-repair, we replace the section outright — either a direct-fit pipe assembly or a new welded-in flex unit with fresh gaskets and hardware. This restores the movement-absorbing joint that protects the rest of your exhaust from engine rock.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Very loud, raspy exhaust from the front
- Flex section visibly torn or collapsed
- Exhaust fumes entering the cabin
- Check engine light after the leak started
If you delay
Without a working flex joint, engine movement transfers into the rigid exhaust and cracks other components downstream.
