What this repair actually is.
The rubber CV boot keeps grease in and road grit out of the CV joint. Once it tears, the grease slings out and the joint starts grinding itself apart. If caught early, we remove the axle, clean and repack the joint with fresh grease, and install a new boot and clamps — much cheaper than a new axle.

- Grease splattered inside the wheel or wheel well
- Visible torn or cracked rubber boot

- Light clicking just starting on tight turns

Once dirt gets into the exposed joint it wears quickly, and a boot job turns into a full CV axle replacement.
