What's involved
What this repair actually is.
The blower motor is the electric fan that moves all cabin air — no blower, no airflow, no matter how well the A/C or heater works. We remove the failed motor, usually from under the dash or behind the glove box, and install a new one, then verify all fan speeds work.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- No air from the vents at any fan speed
- Loud squealing or grinding when the fan runs
- Fan only works when you hit a bump
- Airflow much weaker than it used to be
- Burning electrical smell from the vents
If you delay
A dying blower can squeal constantly, blow fuses, and eventually leave you with no defrost airflow — a visibility problem in rain and winter.
