What's involved
What this repair actually is.
We replace the positive or negative battery cable, including the ground connections where the cable bolts to the engine and body, which are common hidden failure points. Corrosion inside the cable insulation chokes off current invisibly, causing hard starts and electrical problems that new batteries and starters won't fix.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- No-start or slow cranking after the battery and starter tested fine
- Cable insulation bulging, cracked, or leaking green corrosion
- Burning smell near the battery
- Voltage drops when using power accessories
- Repeated terminal corrosion that keeps coming back
If you delay
A failing cable can overheat, strand you, or in the worst case start an electrical fire under the hood.
