What's involved
What this repair actually is.
The ABS module is the computer-and-valve unit that pulses the brakes in a skid and runs traction and stability control. When it fails electronically or its pump wears out, those safety systems go offline and the dash lights up. We replace the module, program and code it to your vehicle, perform the required brake bleed, and verify all systems pass a full scan.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- ABS light on with a confirmed module fault code
- ABS pump running constantly or buzzing loudly
- ABS, traction, and stability lights all on together
- Brakes pulsing oddly at low speed
- Speedometer or brake lights acting up alongside ABS faults
If you delay
You keep normal brakes but lose anti-lock, traction, and stability control — the systems that prevent skids on wet or icy NYC streets — and the light fails inspection.
