What's involved
What this repair actually is.
Rear-end taps commonly dent the trunk lid or liftgate and knock it out of alignment so it leaks or won't latch. We do the metalwork and refinishing, realign the hinges and striker, replace damaged weatherstripping, and check the lock, wiring, and rear camera that run through the panel.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Dent or crease in the trunk lid or liftgate
- Trunk needs a slam or won't latch at all
- Water pooling in the trunk or spare-tire well
- Liftgate rubbing or sitting crooked
- Rear wiper, camera, or lock stopped working after a hit
If you delay
Water leaking past a bad seal soaks the carpet and wiring harness in the trunk floor, breeding rust and electrical gremlins that cost far more than the bodywork.
