What this repair actually is.
The throttle body is the valve that controls how much air enters your engine, and over time it collects a sticky carbon film that disturbs idle and throttle response. We clean the throttle plate and bore with the proper solvent, replace the gasket if needed, and perform an idle relearn on vehicles that require it.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Idle surges up and down or stalls at stops
- Engine feels lazy when you first press the gas
- Idle is rough after a battery change
- Check engine light for throttle or idle codes

Buildup worsens until the engine stalls at lights or the electronic throttle sets a fault and puts the car in reduced-power mode.
