What's involved

What this repair actually is.

We remove the remains of the old back glass, vacuum broken pellets out of the trunk, cargo area, and seats, then bond or set the new rear window in place and reconnect the defroster, antenna, and any wiper hardware. Rear glass is tempered, so damage almost always means full shattering rather than a crack. We verify the defroster grid works before the car leaves.

Symptoms

How you can tell.

  • Rear window shattered from a break-in or impact
  • Back glass exploded in cold weather
  • Rear defroster lines damaged or glass badly scratched
  • Rear window leaking around the edges
If you delay

An open rear window exposes the interior to rain, theft, and exhaust fumes drawn in while driving.
