What's involved
What this repair actually is.
The regulator is the cable-and-track mechanism inside the door that physically raises and lowers the glass. When its cables fray or the track breaks, the window drops into the door, sits crooked, or grinds and stops. We remove the door panel, replace the regulator, re-seat the glass, and confirm smooth, full travel.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Window dropped down inside the door
- Motor runs but the glass does not move
- Window moves crooked or sticks halfway
- Grinding or clunking inside the door
- Glass falls back down after rolling it up
If you delay
A window stuck open invites theft and rain damage, and a loose regulator can scratch or shatter the glass inside the door.
