What this repair actually is.
The entire panel is sanded, repaired as needed, primed, and sprayed edge-to-edge with computer-matched base coat and fresh clear, then blended into the neighboring panels so there's no visible line. A full panel respray is the right call when damage, fading, or previous bad paintwork covers too much of the panel for a spot repair.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Scratches or scrapes covering a large part of one panel
- A panel that's visibly faded or a different shade than the rest of the car
- Peeling or failing paint across a whole door, hood, or bumper
- A previous repair that never matched properly
- Key scratches running the length of a panel
If you delay
Exposed or failing paint lets moisture reach the panel and start corrosion, and on plastic bumpers UV keeps degrading the surface, making prep more expensive later.
