What's involved
What this repair actually is.
Not every exhaust noise is a leak — rattles often come from broken hangers, a loose heat shield, or debris inside the muffler or catalytic converter. We road test the vehicle to reproduce the noise, then inspect on the lift, tapping and shaking components until we isolate the exact source.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Rattling under the car at idle or over bumps
- Deep drone at highway speed
- Buzzing or vibrating heat shield sound
- Marbles-in-a-can rattle near the engine or floor
- Exhaust suddenly sounds like a race car
If you delay
A rattling component usually means something is broken or loose and will eventually drop, drag, or turn into a full leak.
