What's involved

What this repair actually is.

After the leak source is confirmed, we remove the leaking component, clean the sealing surfaces, and install a new gasket or seal — typically a valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, oil filter housing seal, timing cover edge, or drain plug washer. This covers externally accessible seals; deep internal seals like the rear main are a separate, larger job that we'd quote after inspection.

Symptoms

How you can tell.

  • Confirmed oil leak from a specific gasket or seal
  • Oil spots where you park
  • Burning oil smell from the engine bay
  • Oil level dropping between changes
  • Oil residue coating the side or bottom of the engine
If you delay

The leak accelerates, oil can foul belts, mounts, and hot exhaust parts (a fire risk), and running low on oil can destroy the engine.
