Review guidelines

Only review a business you personally used. Reviews from owners, employees, competitors, or anyone who didn't use the shop aren't allowed and are removed.

A business may invite you to review it, but may never ask for a specific rating or offer anything in exchange for a positive one. “Leave us five stars for a discount” is prohibited. “Share your honest experience” is welcome — whatever your rating.

Don't include phone numbers, emails, license plates, home addresses, or other personal details in the public text. Your own email is used only to verify the review and check for duplicates — it's never shown publicly.

No threats, harassment, slurs, or illegal content. Reviews that trip our safety checks are held for moderation before they can appear.

The badge appears when we can tie the review to a specific job in our own records. There are exactly three ways that happens, and every page on this site uses the same rule:

It is not a judgement about the shop, and it is not a claim that we checked whether the review is accurate or fair — only that the person writing it can be tied to a real job. It also does not mean we confirmed a payment: we match the review to the job record, not to a receipt. Typing an email address is never enough to earn the badge. Some review links ask for the reference number and the email already on your booking. That check is real and it stops other people reviewing your job — but an address is a contact detail, not a password, so a review submitted that way is published without the badge.

A review with no badge is shown as Customer submitted: Submitted by someone who says they used this shop. We could not match it to a completed job on file, so it carries no verified badge. These reviews are moderated like any other and count toward the shop's published rating. The absence of a badge says something about what we could check, not about whether the reviewer is honest.

We do not go back and re-label reviews written before a check existed. An older review is shown at the level its own record supports, which means some genuine customers from earlier years appear without a badge. We would rather under-claim than award a badge no evidence backs.

Businesses can respond publicly to any review, and can report a review they believe breaks these rules. They cannot edit a review, change its rating, delete an unfavorable one, or mark their own review as verified.
