What this repair actually is.
We replace the complete taillight unit — lens, housing, and sockets — when it's cracked, holding water, or has failed internally. After installation we verify the brake light, running light, signal, and reverse light all work. LED taillights usually fail as a whole unit since the diodes aren't replaceable.
Symptoms
How you can tell.
- Cracked or broken taillight lens
- Water sloshing or condensation inside the taillight
- Part of the taillight (one section of LEDs) stopped lighting
- Failed NY inspection for a rear light
If you delay
Water inside the housing corrodes sockets and wiring, and a partially dark rear end makes you hard to see at night.
