What's involved

What this repair actually is.

Electric cooling fans pull air through the radiator when the car isn't moving fast enough to do it naturally — which is most of the time in Bronx traffic. When a fan motor or its module fails, the engine overheats at idle and the AC blows warm at red lights. We test the fan circuit, then replace the fan assembly or module and verify it cycles correctly.

Symptoms

How you can tell.

  • Overheating only in traffic or at idle
  • AC blows warm when stopped but cools on the highway
  • Loud clicking, buzzing, or grinding from the fan area
  • Fan never turns on even with the AC running
  • Fan runs constantly at full speed
If you delay

Without a working fan the engine overheats in every traffic jam, and repeated overheating leads to head gasket failure.
